Schedule Update February 13th, 2018

This Is The End

Time comes where everything ends, and time has come where I must end my career as a registered massage therapist.  I don’t go willingly or because I want to, but because of necessity and due to circumstance.  For over 15 years I have enjoyed helping people help themselves, improve how they function and improve how they feel.  I got into this line of work because I knew what it was like to be the client and I decided I would provide the type of service I would look for.

I found out today with my oilfield job that I my work schedule will be changing from a 4-4 to 7-3-7-4 rotation.  With typical 12 hour days I will not be having enough time to still do massage and will be forced to go where I can get stable pay.  My schedule change will start in March so February 23rd will be my last day of work with massage. I am full and on my schedule as there are only a few days I will be working, and my online schedule will no longer be available after next week Friday.

I want to thank all of my clients who I have seen over the past 3 years I have been back in the Lakeland.  My family and I are grateful for the support we have had from the community with keeping demand for my services, and for my core group of clients who have stayed with consistently all the way along. I will still help out anyone in need if I am able, so don’t be hesitant to contact me as we can work something out.

I hope I have made a difference for most of the people I have been able to provide service for.

I’ve enjoyed my time but now it’s done.

Rob

Short Supply of Life Saving Medication

In a recent article on the CBC, Some EpiPens, used to treat life-threatening allergic reaction, in short supply, there could be a shortage of these devices for up to a month. There is no shortage of the .15mg epipen jr. devices, just the .3mg. There is no alternative for this medication in Canada so there will be some adjustments made by pharmacies when distributing the devices.  One positive thing about Canadian Health Care is that we will not have to worry about the inflated costs of more than 500%; an Eppen in Canada costs about $120.

Here are some tips to know if someone may be in anaphylactic shock:

Here is how you use one if needed:

Hopefully you’re never in a situation that requires one, but if you do it’s good to know if one is available and know what to do when the time comes.

Weight Loss is NEVER Found on Easy Street

For anyone that has tried weight loss, there is no simple or easy way of doing anything. It requires a full commitment and changes in activity, eating, lifestyle and many other things.  Some people who have gone in the direction of gastric bypass surgery are giving their accounts of how a private health care service moved in on the public health care system, to the health and financial detriment of many people in search of weight loss.  In a CBC article by Asha Tomlinson and Tyana Grundig titled “Debt, pain and more surgery: The true cost of gastric band procedure hyped as weight-loss fix“, people were still on the hook for pricy medical procedures even when they failed.

Here is this week’s schedule:

Tues         Jan 16th         10:15am, 11:30am, 3:45pm

Happy Holidays!

The holiday season is just around the corner and I’m hoping all of you are able to spend time with your friends and family. It’s been a tough year and many people may be having a harder time than others. I ask that everyone try to make an effort to include anyone you see that may not be in as good of a situation as you. Remember  it’s not the money you spend on people that is important, it is the time you spend with them. The memories that you create will outlast anything you wrap in paper and put a bow on.

I won’t be available for any clients and will be picking up times agin come January. If I don’t see you this week, I don’t want to see you until 2018!

Here’s my schedule:

Thurs         Dec 21st         10:15am

Mon           Jan 8th          10:15am, 2:30pm, 3:45pm, 5pm

Tues           Jan 9th          9am, 10:15am, 11:30am, 2:30pm, 5pm

Mon           Jan 15th         9am, 10:15am, 11:30am, 2:30pm, 3:45pm, 5pm

Tues           Jan 16th         9am, 10:15am, 11:30am, 2:30pm, 3:45pm, 5pm
